v2.37.0 (2026-09-28)
Overview
Vite Horizon 2.37.0 improves the Cart Route Editor:
- choose the font size of UHF Channel, Coupe and Text Point labels;
- three new point styles — Bus Stop, Sharp Corner and Restricted Sight Distance;
- saving several selected features at once no longer changes or duplicates features you did not mean to change;
- the Cart Route Information form follows the route you are working on, and asks before it loses or overwrites your changes.
It also brings the other map editors into line — the names dropdown now follows the feature you select, the Spray Editor's Text Point font sizes match what the map draws, and NOI and Spray keep a selection to one geometry type — and fixes the Layer Catalog's Sketch Line Layer, which showed other people's sketches.
Please reload when asked
When this version goes live, Horizon shows a message asking you to reload the page. Please do. An older copy of Horizon left open in a browser tab does not know the three new point styles, and saving one of those points from it would turn it into an Unknown point for everyone.

New Features and Improvements
Font size for Cart Route labels
UHF Channel, Coupe and Text Point labels can now be shown at 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30. The default is 12.
The Font Size selector sits beside the Save button in the Save Cart Route panel. It appears only when one of these three styles is selected; every other style uses the default size. Selecting an existing point loads its font size into the selector, so you can see — and change — the size it was saved with.
The size is used both on the map and in printed maps. See Saving Cart Routes Geometry.
Three new point styles
| # | Style | Use it to |
|---|---|---|
| 16 | Bus Stop | Mark bus stop locations |
| 17 | Sharp Corner | Warn of a sharp corner |
| 18 | Restricted Sight Distance | Warn of limited visibility ahead |
They appear with the other point styles in the Cart Route Editor. See Point Styles.
Saving several features at once is now safe
With Multiple Mode on you can select several existing points or lines and save them together. Previously this could change features in ways you did not intend:
- two selected lines were merged into one, while the second line was also kept — so it appeared twice;
- a selected feature saved together with a newly drawn one was copied into a new feature, so it appeared twice;
- a line you had clicked again to deselect could still be overwritten;
- every selected feature took the label, style and cart route name of the last feature you clicked.
Now each selected feature is saved as itself, and keeps its own cart route name, label, style and font size. Only a control you actually change after selecting — typing or picking a cart route name, typing a label, clicking a style or picking a font size — is applied to all of them.
Moving features to another cart route
Select the features first, then type or pick the new cart route name, then save.
Line segments you draw in one go are still joined into a single new route line when you save, as before.
Two new checks when saving
- A Text Point needs a label. A Text Point shows only its label, so one without a label would be invisible on the map and in print. Horizon now asks you to enter a Display Label (or choose another style) instead of saving it.
- Points and lines cannot be saved together. If a selection contains both, Horizon asks you to click Reset and select only points or only lines.
Cart Route Information follows the route you are working on
Previously the Cart Route Information form could keep showing one route's Hazard, UHF and Route text after you had moved to another route — so pressing Save could store route A's information under route B's name.
Now the form always belongs to the route you are working on:
- Selecting a point or line moves the cart route name, the Cart Route Information form and — while Filter by Name is off — the Cart Route Names dropdown to that feature's route;
- a typed name applies when you press Enter or click away from the box, not on every keystroke;
- a route that has no information yet shows an empty form, ready to fill in, instead of an error.
See Selecting a Feature Sets the Route.
Cart Route Information asks before losing or overwriting your changes
- Switching route with unsaved changes opens Discard Unsaved Cart Route Info?, which lists what you changed: Keep Editing goes back to the form, Discard and Switch loads the other route.
- Saving over stored information opens Confirm Cart Route Info Changes, showing each changed field as − Saved and + Edited lines, with Save Changes and Cancel. If someone else changed the route's information after you opened it, the dialog warns you before you overwrite it.
- A new route's information, or a save with no visible change, still saves straight away.
The names dropdown follows the feature you select
In the FPP, Plan Burn, Wildfire, NOI, Spray and Cart Route editors, selecting a feature on the map now moves the names dropdown to that feature's name, so the dropdown and the name text field no longer disagree. It happens only while Filter by Name is off, and a name that is not in the list yet is fetched first. Sketch is deliberately left out: its dropdown also chooses what Delete all sketches for the selected name removes.
Two related fixes:
- In NOI and Spray, the dropdown could show one name while the map was filtered by another. They now always match.
- In every editor, Sketch included, choosing a name in the names dropdown no longer clears a filter you had applied to that editor's layers with the Filter tool.
See Selecting and Saving Existing Features.
Spray Editor: Text Point font sizes match the map
The Font Size list for a Spray Text Point is now 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 30 (default 10) — the sizes the Spray map service actually draws. 12 has been added; 36 has been removed, because it was drawn at 12 anyway; and 30 is now really drawn at 30. The selector has moved beside the Save button, as in the FPP and Cart Route editors, and selecting an existing Text Point now shows the size it was saved with.
The Spray map service also now turns each point's label by its Point Angle. See Spray Editor.
NOI and Spray: one geometry type per selection
In the NOI and Spray editors, Select now picks up only features that match the Geometry Types dropdown. Previously a selection could mix, say, points and lines — and saving it could write a feature into the other type's layer. Clicking a feature of another kind now explains that you need to change Geometry Types first.
Fixed: the Layer Catalog's Sketch Line Layer showed other people's sketches
Worth knowing if you have added this layer
Sketch layers are personal: they show only your own drawings. The Sketch Line Layer in the Layer Catalog was added to the map without that restriction, so it showed every user's sketch lines — on the map and in the tools you used it with, such as the Filter tool.
It now shows only your own sketches, like the Sketch layers the Sketch Editor adds. The Filter tool keeps the restriction in place when you apply or reset a filter, and its value lists offer only values from your own sketches.
Smaller fixes
- Editors: a selected feature with no label now stays unlabelled when you save it together with labelled features. It used to take the label of the last feature you clicked.
- Cart Route: the Last Updated date in Cart Route Information now shows correctly. It could read Invalid Date, or show the day and month swapped.
- Filter tool: a Sketch layer added from the Layer Catalog no longer shows your own user restriction as if it were a filter you had applied.
Under the Hood
- The font sizes are drawn by the map service, which now stores a font size for each Cart Route point and has a label size for each of the six options.
- Features you save are recorded under your user name, including existing features you selected and saved.
