Overview

The Viewshed Point Editor Tool is a specialized visibility analysis preparation system designed for creating and managing observation points for comprehensive viewshed analysis in MapComposer. This advanced tool integrates sophisticated point generation algorithms with manual placement capabilities, providing both automated random point distribution and precision manual point creation for professional visibility studies and terrain analysis workflows.

Interface Access

Tool Launch

1. Find Viewshed Points Editor icon
2. Open editor panel

Point Creation

Random Generation

1. Select polygon layer

2. Choose target geometry

3. Configure settings:

   • Point quantity
   • Angle specification
   • Maximum points (15 or 10)

   

4. Generate points

   

Manual Addition

1. Activate draw point mode

   

2. Click map for point placement

Area Selection

1. Click 'Select' button
2. Choose target layer
3. Toggle selection mode as needed

Point Management

Saving Points

1. Click save button

   

Point Deletion

1. Enter visibility number

   

2. Click Delete button
